The Importance of Website Design and Web Development in Creating a Great Website

Website design and development
Many people confuse the term web design with web development. However, there are two entirely different terms. Let us see what these two terms mean and how they differ from each other.

Web Design
A web designer is a person who can transform a story, or even an idea, into a visually appealing design. Web designers use the layout of the structure to create a better user experience on the website. In other words, they actually design the website’s overall look and feel. Think of it along the lines of an architect who creates the plan of your house before a civil engineer constructs the building.
A web designer’s core purpose is to integrate the very best user experience possible, through the creation of an attractive and welcoming environment for the end-user of the website. Few websites can accomplish their purpose without the application of a proper design strategy in the early stages of the website creation project.
It is not possible to create a perfect website without figuring out the specifications or the features required to achieve the objectives of the site. Some of the key roles of a web designer include the following:
o Web designers must always keep the branding of the company when designing the website. They will determine the color palettes to be used, as well as the overall readability of the website.
o They have to have an instinctive feel for the end-user experience so that they would be able to identify the simplest approach in order to attain the desired function. They will finalize the layout in terms of the images, buttons, as well as the general format of the whole website.

Web Development
It is the responsibility of the web developer to turn the original designs into a live and functional website. The web development expert will use multiple web languages and software tools to create a fully functional website.
Web development is split into two main sub-categories:
o Front-End Developers
A front-end developer is the one who builds the actual interface of the site. These people also provide the various points of interaction between the back-end portion of the site and its user.
o Back-end developers
Back-end developers control the server data and any requests made to it. As a general rule, a website requires back-end services only if it contains dynamic data. This can include users submitting a form with certain points of personal data such as filling a form or submitting a blog on the site. The major roles of a web developer include:
o Building the actual interface of the website. This interface is typically built by front-end developers with the help of CSS, HTML, and JS languages.
